One of things I love about this site (apart from the name which I think is way cool) is that when you come to the home page, it’s alive. There’s two windows showing what they are selling, one above one lower down the page. And they shift every two seconds or so. It should be intrusive and annoying but it’s not, it just feels straight away that this is a site that has got its act together. It’s an online store for iPad, iPhone and iPod accessories. Facebook drops $1 billion, pockets Instagram

On Easter Monday (April 9th), Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook will be acquiring the photo-sharing app Instagram, a purchase reported to have been agreed at the price of $1 billion. The acquisition comes at a perfect time. Instagram’s user base has been rising steadily since it was launched in March 2010, and with its recent (as in, last week) extension of its services to Android (as well as iOS) users, the alarm bells must have started ringing for Zuckerberg and his team.
